A wedding with a touch of magic!

We’ve put on some amazing weddings at The Vines this summer – and it’s lovely to be able to speak to our couples after the special event to find out their lasting memories of the occasion.

Laura and Rob Macaulay had been due to marry at Cooling Castle Barn in the summer of 2020, but had it postponed due to Covid. 

When the option of sister venue The Vines came up with dates closer to what they had hoped for, they booked up – and were delighted to have the summer wedding they had wanted.

They opted for a Festival Style wedding which gave them the informal celebrations they were looking for – and a magical occasion, in more ways than one.

Laura explained: “In the end this worked better than we could have hoped for. With so many people having not seen each other for so long, it was like one big garden party outside. 

“It was so informal, you could move around and chat to everyone and then the food just kept coming out. Everyone said how great the food was. 

“We had live music during the day and a DJ during the evening. We even had a magician for a few hours, which really helped break the ice! 

“We’d definitely recommend The Vines. We were really happy to get married in such a lovely environment, but to be able to have the informal feel to it just made it even more memorable. 

“It’s just a shame we didn’t get to stay longer in the bedrooms – they’re beautiful!”
