Travelling by Road:

The wedding venue is in the midst of historic Rochester, at the end of a small access road. For day guests there is public parking within a 3-5 minute walk, you can find more details here.

For guests staying overnight, we do have allocated parking that is a 3-5 minute walk away. We would recommend dropping off your luggage directly at the hotel before proceeding to the car park.

Travelling by Train:

The closest station to The Vines is Rochester station, regular services run from London St Pancras, London Victoria, London Bridge. The Vines is a 5-8 minute walk from the train station, or grab a taxi.

What are your office hours?

We have a fully trained team of Wedding Coordinators who are available seven days a week to assist you. We are here from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Saturday and 9.00am to 4.00pm on Sundays. You can either call us on 01634 222233 or email us at info@thevinesofrochester.com.

What time do your events finish?

We finish at 11.00pm.

How many guests can I invite?

If you select a traditional seated wedding breakfast the maximum day guest number is 70 and up to 120 during in the evening.

If you select the “Festival” wedding the maximum day & evening guests will be 120.

Can I get ready at the Vines?

Yes, we have a Dressing Room which you can gain access to from 9am on the day of your wedding.

Do you have a Bridal Suite?

Oh yes, our beautiful Bridal Suite has a four poster bed, free standing bath and over looks the historic Vines park.

Do you have any accommodation for my guests?

Yes, we have 11 guest rooms and one Bridal Suite

Can we bring our own caterers in?

No.

Does everyone have to have the same meal?

No, if you choose the traditional seated wedding you can select 2 starters, 3 main courses & 2 desserts from our menu and then your guests can pick what they fancy. We also have a children’s menu.

If selecting the “Festival” wedding we have some tantalising menusfor you to share with your guests over a leisurely afternoon of celebrations.

Is there car parking available on site?

No, however we do have a car park within a short walking distance for guests staying in the accommodation.

Can I put candles on the tables?

Yes, but the containers should be 3cm higher than the naked flame and the stand should be sturdy so that it will not tip if the table is knocked. Many of our regular florists use flameless electric candles which are very realistic and safer.

Do you provide a cake stand?

Yes, we have several different stands and a cake knife both of which are available to use.

Do you provide Chair Covers?

No need to cover our lovely chivari chairs and ceremony chairs. However, you are more than welcome to decorate the chairs with sashes or flowers. Please liaise directly with the Wedding Co-ordinators and let them know your ideas.

Can we supply our own DJ?

No, but our resident DJ will use your playlist so you get to choose the style of music – at no extra charge!

Can we have a band?

Yes. We do have a couple of conditions though so if you have a band in mind speak to a Wedding Coordinator before you book.

What time can my florist come to the Vines?

External contractors (i.e. florists etc.) are welcome onto the premises from 9am on the day of your wedding to set up.

Can we bring our things to the Vines before our wedding day.

Yes, we usually advise you bring your things in the day before and we will store them safely for you until the morning.

Do you allow Fire Works?

We are unable to allow fireworks. Due to recent changes in health and safety legislation pyrotechnic companies have not been able to find a suitable position on our site to enable firework displays.

Do you allow Sky Lanterns?

We cannot permit sky lanterns.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes, we are wheelchair accessible throughout and we have disabled toilets.

Can my dog come to my wedding?

Yes, if he is a guide or hearing dog, and yes if he has really good doggie manners. But as much as we adore dogs he must be kept on a lead and cannot come into areas when we are serving food.

Are my guests permitted to smoke on site?

Only in the garden.

Do you have to get married on site or can we marry in a Church?

You are more than welcome to get married in Church and then come here for the remainder of your celebrations. There are two local churches to us – Rochester Cathedral and St Margaret’s Church.
