Full weekend event details here!
Whether you want some Chuck Berry, Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys, Christmas tunes or some stunning choir music, we’ve got it covered, this weekend!
The Vines of Rochester is putting on a very special Christmas charity event, with food, drink, music and fun for all the family.
With money collected going to Parkinson’s UK – a cause very close to our hearts – we are opening our gates, and doors, to bring our own festive cheer to Rochester’s Dickensian Christmas weekend.
The Maida Vales - with some rock and pop classics from the 1950s to present day - will join us on Saturday, 4 December, followed by acoustic guitarist and singer Sean Farrelly. The fabulous Kent Police Male Voice Choir will join us on Sunday, 5 December, belting out some Christmas classics and much more.
While you’re listening to some amazing singing and music, our talented chefs will be cooking up a treat – with a Hog Roast Classic (pulled pork, stuffing and apple sauce in a brioche bun), American Pulled Pork (BBQ pork with ‘slaw, jalapeños and cheddar in a brioche bun) and Seasonal Soup (spiced butternut and sweet potato soup, pumpkin seed, pesto, croutons), all on the menu.
Our Norwegian-style tee-pee – usually reserved for weddings – will be transformed for the children in the rear garden – with plenty of activities to keep them occupied while you're there.
And there will of course be soft drinks – or something a bit stronger – in the shape of cask ales (from Westerham Brewery, Kent), real ale, Peroni, mulled wine and wine - to help all our friends, families and local residents, get truly into the Christmas spirit!
Our gates will be open from 11am until 4pm, both days, with music taking place at 11am, 12.30pm and 1.45pm (45-minute sets), so as not to clash with some of the main events scheduled for the High Street and Castle Grounds on this fun, festive weekend. Food from 11.30am both days.
The Maida Vales (above) will play everything from Chuck Berry to the Rolling Stones, Beatles and The Killers during their two sets at 11am and 12.30pm on Saturday. Sean Farrelly will play a mix of classics from 1.45pm.
Sunday, it’s the turn of The Kent Police Male Voice Choir - who will be doing what they do best, getting everyone well and truly into the festive spirit. Their sets start at 11am, 12.30pm and 1.45pm.
So, please take this opportunity to come and say ‘Hello!’, enjoy some great food and music and help us raise some money for a very special cause this Christmas. It's free entry, but any money collected through food, drink, or collections, will go to Parkinson's UK.
We hope to see you all there to help us celebrate our favourite time of year!!
